First few days...(12/31/2010)

Hey Everybody,

First of all the key boards in England are a little bit weird not way weird just a few things are different so there may be a lot of typo's. And since i have only thirty minutes to tell you a whole bunch of stuff so i am not gonna take the time to make sure my grammar is all correct and everything is spelled correctly so sorry.

Well first of all when i arrived in england it was raining!!! i was pretty happy about that. there rain here is flipping amazing it is like mist. we got in a car with a guy that had a sign that said mtc. He was driving a small bus van thing it was pretty funny looking and it had a trailer on the back of it. all the cars here in england are like miniature its funny and i dont even think there is one truck in all of england. nd it was pretty nerve racking when we started driving especially when we took our first left turn. All of england is pretty beautiful. the grass here is so thin and green. there a lot of rolling green hills with brick old looking houses and sheep lol. The houses are straight out of Harry Potter lol. When we got to the mtc everyone was really nice and happy and kind. we didnt get our companions until that night so i went most of the first day without a companion. The funny thing is that i got 2 companions. there is an odd number of elders so we are a threesome lol. My companions are elder SHiller he is from st. george and he played football in high school he kinda reminds me a bit of Rylan. My other companion is elder Bradly and he is an Englishman he lived in some town south of London. We always give him a hard time cause he is really slow and everything its pretty funny and he accepts the critisism pretty well. When we eat food he has to eat everything and i mean absolutly everything he will pick up the tiniest crumb off his plate with a fork. he is very dignified in the way he eats as well he will cut up a french fry into like 10 pieces with his knife and then eat each piece one by one with his fork. thats why it takes him like an hour to eat lol and it takes about forty minutes to shower me and elder shiller are always waiting for him lol. maybe its good for me to have two companions cause now i wont complain when i only have one. One companion seems easy to me now.

If your wondering what the accents like its not too bad. all my teachers have accents. The crazy thing is on the second day i started thinking in a british accent. Now all my thoughts are in an english accent. and today i have began to say random words in an english accent... so if you were wondering if i'll come back with an english accent then i think it is a definate yes i'll probably have an english accent by the end of the week ...no joke! None of the other missionaries have had this problem but i think this is mostly do to the fact that my companion is british.

The Mtc is super super busy i have about a thousand things to study and do and no time to do it cause i am in classes all day and if i'm not in class were eating and if we're not eating then we have to be asleep. Oh by the way my companion is district leader…

The food here isnt too bad but isnt too great either. the first day i dont even know what it was that we ate but it was weirda and bland lol. But every meal since has gotten better we have normal stuff like pizza and lasagna and stuff but no matter what it has a british flavor or style to it. i havent exactly been out in the british culture so dont ask me too many questions i have only been outside twice...once to go to the temple down the street and once to exercise and the stake center near by. the temple here looks a lot like the oaker mountain temple except it has a bit more of a castle feeling to it there's a lot more small corridors than large open walk ways like the oaker mountain. after the temple i went to the distrabution center when i was in there i started talking to this black man he said he was from birmingham and i'm not gonna lie he was extremly hard to understand he was a bit of a nervouse talker. he spoke like super fast and he would realize it was too fast so he would sorta repeat it again and say it even faster the second time. Also in england everyone always says "where abouts"? so if you tell them your from utah they will say where abouts? it took me a while to understand they mean where at in utah. today i have to give my first fake lesson i am a bit nervous since this is only my third day and i think that tomorrow we are going out to manchester and proselyt for like real! so pray for me please! oh also we occasionally get on mormon.org and talk with investigators. i guess that if you go to mormon.org you can press a button and talk to a real missionary and so for a little while today we were those missionaries that they talk to. it was pretty cool accept the lady we talked to today was from paris and she was just a fake! apparently people get on there and try to pretend like they are intrested just so they can waste missionaries time. We talked to this girl for a real long time about the plan of salvation and then when she gave us her contact info to give to the missionaries in paris she asked if she could have to missionaries bring magnets with them. i guess that theses people that are always trying to waste missionaries time always mention magnets. Its pretty stupid.
